| Nato a New York e cresciuto a Los Angeles, Ethan Suplee è considerato un attore di grande talento. Lo si è potuto vedere in Without a Paddle, American History X, Blow e Cold Mountain.
Dopo avere esordito in un episodio di Tales from the Crypt nel 1994, viene scelto da Kevin Smith per un ruolo in Mallrats (1995) dove ha lavorato con Jason Lee. Dal 1994 al 1998 ha il ruolo di Frankie Stecchino nella serie della Disney Boys Meet World.
Sua la voce di Noman il golgota in Dogma (1999) di Kevin Smith, che l’ha voluto anche per Clerks II nel 2006.
Insieme a Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Eddie Steeples e Nadine Velazquez è stato candidato a un premio Emmy come migliore ensemble di attori per una serie TV (categoria commedie) per My Name Is Earl.
